The Executive Board strives hard to provide innovative solutions for our circulators and our business partners to improve revenue, circulation, processes and customer relations in all aspects of the newspaper industry.
I began my career with newspapers as a carrier and moved into the Distribution Department as Manager at The Log Cabin Democrat in Conway, Arkansas. Upon completing my Master’s Degree, I moved to the circulation department within one year and assumed the role of Circulation/ Marketing and Distribution Director. Stayed in this position for five years before moving to Carrollton, GA as the Circulation Director over three newspaper locations in our group. I moved back to Arkansas as Circulation Director at The Sentinel Record in Hot Springs after three years. I am now in Columbus, MS as the Circulation / Distribution Manager and Production Manager over pre-press and the press. I have been here for the last six years.

Ms.Prentice joined The Tampa Bay Times in 2002 as the Retail Marketing Operations Manager, focusing on the design and implementation of a conversion from an employee distribution process to independent contractors. She moved into her current role as Sales Initiative Manager in July of 2009 responsible for market-wide audience and revenue growth with a focus on home delivery subscriber acquisition and retention. Additionally, Ms. Prentice coordinates efforts of the cross-departmental Audience Growth Team which maximizes guerilla marketing programs in Hillsborough and Central/East Pasco counties.
Prior to joining the Tampa Bay Times, Ms. Prentice was with Gannett for 16 years at newspapers in Florida, Tennessee, Georgia and South Carolina. During her career with Gannett she held the positions of Vice President of Circulation, Circulation Manager, Sales and Marketing Manager and Customer Service Manager.
Ms. Prentice is the Past-Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Pasco Education Foundation, Inc. She is a member of the Newspaper Association of America, Southern Circulation Manager’s Association and is an alumnus of American Press Institute’s Circulation Executive Seminar and Consumer Marketing Strategies. In 2000, Ms. Prentice was the recipient of Presstime Magazine’s 20 under 40 Award and in 2011 was honored with the Business Leader’s Women Extraordinaire Award.
Director at Large
Walter is Circulation Director at Tennessee Valley Printing Co., Inc. The Tennessee Valley Printing Company includes two daily papers and one weekly newspaper with a combined circulation of over 42,000 daily and 46,500 on Sunday. Walter began his newspaper career as a representative in the Knight-Ridder Specialty Program. Knight-Ridder, at the time the time the 2nd largest newspaper publisher in the country, constructed such programs as a means of developing future leaders in the newspaper industry. Having received a Bachelor’s Degree in the field of Communications with a focus in Journalism and Public Relations from Miles College in Birmingham, AL. After which he returned to his hometown newspaper the Anniston Star where he worked with Dennis Dunn, past SCMA President and Board Member as Dunn’s City District Manager. After nearly a year, Walter would move to Florence, AL to work with New York Times owned Times Daily climbing the ranks as District Manager, Zone Manager and Home Delivery Manager before the company was eventually purchased. Walter would continue on with what is now Tennessee Valley Printing Co., Inc. He would also be taking on the challenge of another daily paper of near equal volume, as well as a popular weekly newspaper, the Moulton Advertiser. Walter continued to work his way through the ranks earning titles as Group Home Delivery Manager, Home Delivery Operations Manager, and inevitably, Circulation Director.
Beyond his accomplishments as a circulator, Walter is also a family man. His Wife Martita and three children Walter, William and Kyra are amongst the things he is most proud of. Walter, once an All Conference Defensive Tackle in college, coaches his two sons each year in football as a member of the Youth Football League in the Shoals area.

Rob Kearley is the circulation director of The Venice Gondolier Sun in Venice, FL. He has been a member of SCMA since 1987 and has served as secretary/treasurer in 1991-1992, was elected to 3rd vice president in 1993 and president of SCMA in 1996. In 1998, he returned as treasurer and held that position until 2002. Rob has been the recipient of the Clarence Bevinger Award and the William C. Green Award.
Rob started in the newspaper business in 1980 at the Daytona Beach (FL) News-Journal and was with that organization for 16 years. In 1996, he joined Gannett and served as circulation director of The Shreveport (LA) Times, The Monroe (LA) News-Star and the Fort Myers (FL) News-Press. He later joined The Fayetteville (NC) Observer and was the circulation director there from 2003 through 2008.
Georgina has been in the industry for over 13 years, most of that time spent with Treasure Coast Newspapers in Stuart, FL. She recently relocated to Greenville, SC with Gannett as an Acquisition and Retention Analyst for the Florida and the Carolinas. She has worked as a customer service representative, graphic designer and is currently a circulation sales specialist. She holds two bachelor degrees from Florida Atlantic University in Marketing and Management Information Systems and two associates degrees from Indian River State College in Graphic Design and Finance. While in college she served on the executive boards with several organizations including Phi Theta Kappa, Management Information Systems Association, and student government.
